Tilt and Turn Window Blinds

Tilt-and-turn windows are the most commonly used windows in Germany and northern Countries and are becoming more prominent in NZ. They open completely inwards and, when tilted, allow fresh air to flow into the room from above; they can be made of uPVC, wood, or aluminium. Tilt-and-turn window blinds are designed to stay by the window when tilted or opened.

Tilt and Turn Window Blinds

Corded models come in handy for the often much larger fixed windows next to the T&T, or if the blind is hard to reach, like behind a desk or sofa

All tilt-and-turn window blinds models feature an anti-swing mechanism/tension cord that runs on both sides of the blind or on the side guard for roller blinds, keeping the blind in place by the window when the window is tilted, except for some blind styles.

The same models and blind styles can also be mounted on fixed windows (except for the clamp mounting option, which is not applicable, but can be installed in the recess)

Blinds for tilt-and-turn windows can be installed in multiple ways to suit your space and preferences. They can be mounted directly onto the window sash, within the glazing bead, or onto the glass itself. Installation options include clamp mounting, drilling, or adhesive fixing—eliminating the need for bulky plastic frames that attach to the window, thereby reducing your view space and compromising a contemporary look, although, available in an adhesive mounting option to prevent damaging the seal when installing.

We offer a wide range of blind models and styles suitable for living areas, bathrooms, offices, and bedrooms. Our collection includes Aluminium Venetian blinds, Roller blinds, Roman blinds, Pleated blinds, and Honeycomb blinds. These are designed to fit wooden, aluminium, and UPVC windows and doors for inward-opening tilt-and-turn systems, as well as fixed windows, and sliding or folding doors.

Operation can be cordless, corded, chain, or fully automated, in classic bottom-up & bottom-down, top-down and bottom-up, as well as duo/day and night-blind styles.

Our most commonly used and much-loved operating style is top-down and bottom-up, due to the open view to the outside when the blind is lower from the top and the added safety when the bottom part is covered, rather than the top.

Diversity is everything

Non-toxic fabrics are often overlooked. Our blind fabrics are manufactured to stringent European standards. We carry a vast range of non-toxic textiles and materials that comply with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, the world’s leading product label for the measurement of harmful substances in textiles of our German-made honeycomb, pleated blinds and roller blinds. Textiles that receive this certificate have been manufactured entirely without the use of regulated or harmful chemicals. Please ask.

No bulky plastic framing to mount the blind, which takes away viewing space from all directions, giving it a contemporary, clean feel.

No-drill mounting for easy installation, such as clamping around the window sash or adhesive on the glazing or glazing bead.

Adhesive mounting options with narrow vertical adhesive strips to minimise loss of viewing space and prevent light from entering through the sides, making great bedroom blinds, and are designed to meet the industry’s minimum distance to the glazing needed to prevent overheating and possible glass breakage and are available to an impressive 2200mm width without any cords visible when the TDBU blind is lowered from the top.

Special-shaped/oddly shaped windows for regular and tilt-and-turn windows.

Sleek design with slim, modern profiles—many measuring just over 20mm in width and height—and a variety of colour options, they blend seamlessly into any interior.

Drilling option is a sturdy and popular choice; the windowpane/glazing bead can be replaced. Drilling options do not affect the seal or warranty.

Fixed Window To create a consistent look throughout your space, extra-large fixed window blinds can be perfectly matched with tilt-and-turn window blinds.

An extensive range of premium fabrics, materials, and exclusive designs—many of which are unique to PLISSEE BLINDS—allowing you to customise your blinds to suit any home or professional environment to protect against Heat, UV, glare, and more.

Child-safe: All our German-manufactured blinds are designed with safety in mind, featuring corded blinds with a cord-break-away mechanism, chain-operated blinds with a chain break, cordless systems that eliminate the risk of dangling cords, making them a safe choice for homes with pets and with children

Pleated & Honeycomb Blinds

Both blinds, the honeycomb and the pleated blinds, use the same rail systems and mounting options. Pleated blinds and honeycomb blinds look very similar once installed. Both blinds can be operated corded or cordless, top-down & vice versa, or in the classic bottom-up style with lateral guides to ensure the blind stays in place on the window frame even when the window is tilted. Lowering window blinds, even slightly, significantly impacts your privacy, light, and view.
Both pleated blinds and honeycomb blinds can be easily mounted on most window frames, including those made of plastic, as well as on glass panes, walls and ceilings – sometimes even without drilling and screwing.
Blinds’ fabrics feature special functions and properties, such as dust-repellent, flame-retardant, and anti-glare properties for office use, as well as damp room suitability and heat-reflecting laminations for passive insulation. The only difference is the fabric pleat.
*Tensioned/cordless models up to max width of 2200mm, and max height of 2500mm *Cord-operated models up to max width of 2500mm, and max height of 3000mm

Pleated Blinds

Pleated blinds are one of Europe’s most popular options for tilt-and-turn windows and glass doors. They are made from a single-pleat fabric featuring tiny holes to guide the tension cord through, allowing light to pass through. They fold neatly into a slim stack, and due to the lighter fabric weight of the single pleat, can often be manufactured to larger sizes. The elegant, tailor-made pleated blinds fit perfectly into the frames of tilt-and-turn windows and glass doors. The entire collection of pleated blinds fabrics includes an overwhelming range of colours and textures in five transparencies, from transparent to  blackout. Depending on the fabric, pleated blinds tend to be sturdy, with a wider range of fabric patterns and colours, and many fabric properties, such as aluminium or Perlex coating on the back for excellent heat protection, translucent fabrics, anti-fungal properties, and glare protection.

Pleated blinds for tilt-and-turn windows are available in tensioned/cordless models, as well as free-hanging corded and chain-operated models with the anti-swing mechanism, depending on the model and mounting situation, either with a drill-free adhesive or a clamp-mounted installation.

Tensioned/Cordless models are available in two user-friendly configurations: top-down/bottom-up (TDBU) and push-and-pull (bottom-up).                                                              Depending on the model and mounting option (e.g., clamp, screw, or adhesive), they are available up to a max width of 2200mm, with cords not visible in the centre when the blind is lowered, making them extremely popular.

Blinds for large, fixed windows can be fitted with free-hanging blinds by installing the blind in the recess to seamlessly blend and create a consistent look.

Free-hanging —whether chain-operated or automated. They are available to a max width of 2500m (with up to 3300 mm possible) and are quickly and easily mounted directly onto the window sash using clamp fittings or securely mounted within the glazing bead by screw fastening mount. Chain- and cord-operated models can include a kids’ safety chain breakaway mechanism up to a certain dimension.

Free-hanging – chain-operated models are a good choice for very large windows or hard-to-reach windows, where chain operation is helpful, and are available in an automated version.

Honeycomb Blinds

Honeycomb blinds, also called cellular blinds, are always the right choice and offer two advantages over simple pleated blinds: better room darkening properties, as tension cords are internally guided, and better thermal insulation properties, as they are constructed of two pleated fabric layers with insulating air spaces in between to reduce heat loss. Honeycomb blinds for windows and doors make an excellent choice for passive home insulation

Honeycomb blinds for tilt-and-turn windows are available in tensioned/cordless models, as well as free-hanging corded and chain-operated models with the anti-swing mechanism, depending on the model and mounting situation, either with a drill-free adhesive or a clamp-mounted installation.

The aluminium frame fits neatly between the glazing beads, creating an almost flush finish while acting as a side guide to achieve near-complete blackout, making it great for bedrooms.

Installation is simple: magnetic strips are attached to the window frame with adhesive tape, allowing the blind frame to click securely into place. The frame can also be easily unclipped when needed, providing convenient access for window cleaning or maintenance.

The blind fabric is fully integrated into an aluminium frame and is operated manually by moving the top or bottom rail, allowing the blind to be positioned at any height.
