Sustainable & Health-Conscious Materials

An often-overlooked consideration when selecting interior window treatments is the effect fabrics can have on indoor air quality and occupant well-being. Some manufactured textiles may release chemicals into the air over time, particularly when exposed to heat and direct sunlight.

We offer a wide range of OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified fabrics, tested for regulated and non-regulated harmful substances

Smart fabrics

Our large specialised commercial blind fabrics collections can be tailored to project-specific requirements and are available in a range of transparencies and specialist performance options, including:

  • Fire-retardant
    • Moisture-resistant
    • Glare-reducing
    • UV- and heat-protective
    • Anti-fungal and anti-microbial
    • Dirt-repellent

For example, roller sunscreen fabrics with an aluminium backing can help reduce glare and reflect heat, improving energy efficiency by lowering cooling demands during summer.

Beautiful light with no glare.

The right kind of fabric, light transparency or view to the outside, while Protection from glare is vital in healthcare, the commercial and/or workstation environments, to prevent overexertion and eye fatigue. The transmission value of a blind fabric is particularly important for glare reduction, although the protection provided by fabrics varies with window orientation. For example, the indirect light falling through a south-facing window can be effectively reduced with a high transmission value of up to 20%, while glare protection from direct light requires blinds fabrics with a much lower transmission value. For offices and other commercial applications, we recommend the following minimum transmission values, depending on the window’s orientation.

  • North facing: 0 – 5%
  • East and west facing: 2 – 6%
  • South facing: 15 – 20%

All pleated, honeycomb, roller and vertical blinds fabrics with a transmission value at or below 20% are marked as suitable for workstations
