Pleated Blinds
Pleated blinds are one of Europe’s most popular window treatment options. Similar in appearance to honeycomb blinds, they use many of the same rail systems and mounting options while offering a clean and refined appearance
Unlike honeycomb blinds, pleated blinds are made from a single-layer pleated fabric, creating a slimmer fabric stack and allowing often larger blind sizes in some models due to the lightweight material. Fabrics are often sturdier. Tiny guide holes for tension cords are integrated into the fabric, allowing a small amount of light to pass through.
Pleated blinds are suitable for recess and face mounting and, thanks to their slim rail design and versatile fixing options, can often be mounted directly into the glazing bead, onto the glazing, or installed with adhesive systems for doors and windows. If not already included, many models can have an anti-swing system added to help keep blinds stable in draughty areas.
Available in a wide range of colours, textures, and designer fabrics, pleated blinds come in five opacities — from transparent to blackout. Depending on the fabric selected, options may include reflective aluminium or Perlex® backing for enhanced heat and UV protection even on translucent fabric, glare control, anti-fungal properties, and improved thermal comfort.
We offer an extensive range of operating styles, including
Cordless-tensioned
- top-down/bottom-up
- bottom-up/bottom-down
- Duo-day and night blinds
Corded & chain-operated
- top-down/bottom-down
- bottom-up/bottom-down
Automated
- bottom-up/bottom-down
Depending on the model, available in 15 mm and 20mm fabric pleat sizes. Pleated blinds are also available for special-shaped windows, ceilings, sunrooms, and pergolas.
Premium Fabric Collection
Our European-manufactured fabrics are designed to combine style, privacy, and performance. Beyond enhancing a room’s appearance, fabrics can provide UV protection, glare reduction, privacy, thermal comfort, and blackout performance.
We offer a wide selection of OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics tested for harmful substances, including premium polyester (PES), viscose, recycled materials (PCR), and PVC-free options.
Depending on the fabric, benefits may include dust and dirt repellence, moisture resistance for damp areas, quick-drying fibres, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, flame retardancy, UV and glare protection, and hand-washable or damp-wipeable finishes — making them suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
Fabric Opacity, Privacy Options & more
Transparent – Sheer fabrics designed to soften daylight while maintaining outward views and subtle daytime privacy.
Semi-Transparent – Allows generous natural light while providing effective daytime privacy, with visibility limited to vague shapes and shading. Selected fabrics may also include heat-reflective coatings.
Translucent – Offers an ideal balance of privacy and filtered natural light, making it well suited to living areas while helping reduce UV exposure.
Dim-Out – Provides excellent privacy and room darkening while reducing glare, heat, and UV exposure. A small amount of light may still pass through pleated blind cord guide holes and side gaps depending on installation.
Blackout – Designed for maximum heat protection, room darkening, and privacy. Most fabrics feature reflective backing for superior heat protection. Minimal light ingress may occur through cord holes (pleated blinds only) or side gaps depending on the mounting system.
Heat, Glare & UV Protection
Pleated blind fabrics can be selected based on their heat, glare, and light-control performance to improve indoor comfort and energy efficiency.
Transmission refers to how much light passes through the fabric — lower values reduce daylight and glare.
Absorption measures how much light is absorbed and converted into heat — lighter fabrics generally absorb less.
Reflection refers to how much light is reflected away from the window. Fabrics with white backing, aluminium or reflective coatings such as Perlex® offer particularly strong heat protection.
In home offices, work environments, and commercial spaces, glare reduction is essential for visual comfort. Recommended fabric transmission levels vary by window orientation:
- North-facing: 0–5%
• East/West-facing: 2–6%
• South-facing: 15–20%
All fabrics with a transmission value of 20% or less are marked as suitable for workstations.
Operation Styles
Our pleated blinds are available in a wide range of operating systems to suit different window types, lifestyles, and design preferences. Choose from cordless tensioned blinds, cord- or chain-operated, and automated options in classic bottom-up (BU) or top-down and bottom-up (TDBU) operation.
Available in 15mm pleat sizes and 20mm pleat sizes, our blinds feature various rail and profile widths to accommodate a broad range of applications and installation requirements.
Please note: automated or Chain-operated top-down & bottom-up systems are available exclusively in honeycomb fabrics. For these options, please visit our Honeycomb Blinds page.
Designed to provide a unique combination of privacy, light control, and sun protection, our priority is helping you select a blind solution perfectly suited to your windows, home, and lifestyle.
Duo Day & Night Blinds
Duo Day & Night blinds combine two fabric types in a single blind system, offering exceptional flexibility and control throughout the day.
Available in both corded and tensioned-cordless configurations, the two fabrics operate independently and are connected via a central rail system. This allows you to adjust each fabric separately or completely conceal one while using the other.
Choose combinations such as:
- Transparent or translucent fabric for natural daylight and visibility
- Dim-out or blackout fabric for enhanced privacy and room darkening and superior heat and UV protection.
You can display one fabric, both fabrics together, or fully close the blind depending on your needs.
Duo blinds provide excellent control over light, privacy, glare reduction, and heat transfer, making them ideal for living spaces, offices, and bedrooms. For superior insulation and darkening, a honeycomb fabric can be selected as the blackout layer.
Balcony Door Blind – Slim Rail System
Designed specifically for balcony and sliding doors, this slim-profile blind system features top-down and bottom-up operation with a 17mm slim rail/profile and 15mm pleated fabric.
Its compact design allows installation between sliding door panels with as little as 20mm clearance, making it an excellent solution for privacy without compromising functionality.
By lowering the blind from the top, you can reduce visibility from neighbouring homes or street level while still allowing natural light into the room and maintaining outdoor views.
These blinds help create a more private, comfortable living environment and can also soften or block unwanted views.
Installation Options
Due to the slim rail design with a width of only 17mm, the blind can be installed in a glazing bead with a depth of 15mm.
Choose from convenient mounting methods to suit your space:
- Adhesive mounting (no drilling required) – a popular option for sliding and balcony doors
- Drilled installation
Cordless Tensioned Blind Systems
Our Cordless Tensioned Blind Systems combine elegant design, effortless operation, and enhanced child safety. With no visible hanging cords, they create a clean, contemporary look while offering excellent control over privacy, natural light, and sun protection.
One of our most popular and versatile blind options, cordless tensioned blinds are available in a range of configurations to suit different window styles, living spaces, and functional requirements.
Available in 15mm and 20mm pleat fabrics, these blinds are offered in Top-Down/Bottom-Up (TDBU) and classic Bottom-Up (BU) operation. This allows precise positioning of the blind to optimise privacy, light control, and comfort.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up (TDBU) operation allows the blind to be lowered from the top, helping maintain privacy from neighbouring properties and passersby while still allowing natural daylight and outward views — creating a brighter, more comfortable living space.
With no exposed cords, cordless tensioned blinds provide a sleek, uncluttered finish and improved child safety, making them an ideal choice for family homes, while the tensioned cords prevent the blind from swinging in the draft. Due to the slim rail design with a width of only 22mm, the blind can be installed in a glazing bead with a depth of 19mm.

Cord-operated models are available in widths up to 2500mm. Depending on the model, larger sizes are available and may incur additional charges or require sea freight. Selected models can also be motorised for effortless automated operation. Both corded and chain-operated models can come equipped with kids’ safety devices.
Many of the sought-after benefits of cordless blinds are also available with cord-operated systems, including top-down/bottom-up privacy control and lateral bracing to minimise movement in breezy environments.
Lateral Bracing – Stability Without Compromise
For enhanced stability, all cordless tensioned blinds and selected cord-operated models can be fitted with lateral bracing (optional on free-hanging systems). This feature uses discreet tensioned guide cords positioned along both sides of the blind, allowing the rails to glide smoothly while reducing unwanted movement.
Lateral bracing is especially beneficial for opening windows such as tilt-and-turn or hinged windows, ensuring the blind moves naturally with the window rather than swinging freely. It is also recommended in areas exposed to airflow, helping maintain a neat appearance while allowing fresh air to circulate comfortably.
Enjoy the benefits of open windows without the distraction of a swaying blind.
Manual Operation Options for Honeycomb Blinds

Designed for enhanced privacy and light control, this advanced configuration allows the blind to be independently positioned from both the top and bottom, enabling precise adjustment anywhere within the window opening.
With widths up to 2500mm, and 3000mm available under , this model is manufactured from a 25mm honeycomb fabric with a contemporary narrow-profile rail system.
The system features an additional mid-rail and dual cord-lock operation, with one cord controlling the lower section and the other controlling the upper section. This allows the fabric to stack in multiple positions throughout the window.
For example, the blind may be positioned to maintain privacy at eye level while still allowing natural light through the upper section of the window.
Despite its sophisticated functionality, the design remains clean and discreet, with only one central operating cord visible when the blind is lowered, plus one additional cord positioned approximately 50mm from each side. MOUNTING OPTIONS
Depending on the model and rail/profile width, honeycomb blinds can be mounted in the recess, on the wall, architrave, inside or outside on the glazing bead (depending on the window material), or mounted with adhesive on the glazing.
RECESS MOUNT (INSIDE WINDOW REVEAL)
This is the standard mounting option for most window types. The blind is measured to fit snugly within the window reveal, so that the closed blind covers the entire window opening. This option is visually discreet, as the blind sits within the window recess, rather than protruding into the room. The recess mount also allows less light into the room than a face mount, as the gaps along the lateral edges of the blind are smaller, making it a popular mounting choice for bedrooms.
MOUNTING OPTIONS FOR UPRIGHT WINDOWS FACE MOUNT (ON WALL OR ARCHITRAVE/TRIM)
The blind is mounted on the architrave parallel to the wall. It aligns with the architrave edges, so that the closed blind covers the window opening and the architrave. For models with our narrow rail width, where there is no architrave and the wall itself is suitably sturdy, the blind can be mounted directly to the wall in front of the window recess. We recommend mounting the blind 50 mm beyond each recess edge. Due to the slim design of the rail system, the rails and blind will extend only c. 28 mm into the room (excepting the operating handle)
Mounting options for cordless models:
Cordless or tensioned models are mounted by screwed inside the glazing bead, recess, on the architrave or wall or on the glazing via adhesive mount.
Adhesive fastenings on the glazing for cordless models.
Horizontal adhesive mount:
Vertical adhesive mount
